In this episode of What’s Ahead, I examine whether our internal crises—the Covid-19 economic lockdown and now the turmoil engulfing our cities—threaten our technological ascendency vis-à-vis China, whose universities are turning out many more STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) graduates than our own and whose government encourages stealing foreign companies’ trade secrets. We must play to our strength—our ability to innovate. And to do that, we must again create the environment in which this flourishing takes place: low tax rates, a stable dollar, deregulation and allowing more—not fewer—high-tech immigrants into our country.
