But what about saving some cash on something that you use every day? That not only make life easier, but keep you healthier when they’re in good repair. If my kids are any indication, then there isn’t a single person alive that actually cares properly for their teeth. Well, until the morning before a dentist’s visit at least.
So let’s change that. Take some of that money you were going to blow on yet another smart speaker that you don’t need and put it towards your mouth. In the long run, you’ll be a lot happier.
Quip metal toothbrush
Toothbrushes don’t have to be boring. Last year I jumped on Quip’s annual holiday sale and got two brushed metal electric toothbrushes for my kids. Now they actually brush like they should (Quip has a built in 2-minute timer with reminders to switch every 30 seconds). As a bonus, the included mirror mount means that they keep their brushes off the counter when they’re done. That mount also becomes a travel cover – I don’t think they’ve forgotten their toothbrushes once on a trip since getting them the Quip. And every 3 months we get new brushheads and batteries in the mail, so it’s easy for me to keep things maintained.
Quip’s impressive Black Friday sale is still going on through midnight tonight. Spend $55 or more on the siteand you can take 15% off your order with the code HOLIDAYSALE. Get a stylish metal toothbrush with toothpaste and a travel floss and you’ll be able to cash in immediately. If you want to go even bigger, get one of their their new travel case bundles and you’ll get a full $20 off. And if you take advantage of the next deal, you’ll want that travel case handy.
Candid Starter Kit
Whether you skipped out on braces when you were a kid or your bite is readjusting itself as you get older, chances are you’d like your teeth to be a little less snaggly. But walking around as an adult with a mouth full of metal isn’t the best option. That’s why clear aligners are incredibly popular. The problem? They’re also incredibly expensive. When I talked to my dentist about Invisalign, he hit me with a one year treatment plan that would cost me over $6,000 out of pocket. I looked into mail-order services that claimed to do the same, for a lot less, but only one company stood out as one to which I’d trust my future smile.
Candid has the distinction of having treatment plans that are developed solely by orthodontists, not dentists. They use 3D molds of your teeth to develop a model and then custom-print and ship a full set of aligners to your door. You follow the bi-weekly plan and get tips, reminders, and schedule check-ins via the Candid app. It takes around half a year, which is phenomenal considering how long an Invisalign plan takes, and costs about a sixth of what your dentist will charge.
I’ll be talking more, a lot more, about Candid in the coming weeks, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t point out that their best deal of the year is happening right now. If the above sounds interesting to you, then you should scoot over to the Candid website immediately. Their starter kit, usually $95, is just $5 until midnight. That’s $5 to check out the plan and see if it’s right for you. Even better? If you decide to purchase treatment, you’ll get your $5 back.
All you have to lose is a little bit of time (and the potential for some very goofy selfies to make it onto the internet…but I’ll talk more about that another time).
